Ferrets of New England Policies

Carriers
For your safety and the safety of your new pet, no ferret will leave Ferrets of New England unless it is in a secure carrier. The carrier must latch shut. Zippers, velcro, snaps, and buttons are not acceptable as secure. A ferret loose in a car can not only injure its self but also the other people on the road as well.  One can imagine what would happen if they got behind the gas or break pedles.  You do not want your  car dismatled at an outo body shop to retreave a missing ferret. For this reason if you do not have a proper carrier apon arriveing to pick up your new ferret you will be required to purchase one from us.

Nipping
No refunds will be given for ferrets that are returned for nipping.  Ferrets go through a nipping stage and need to be trained not to nip.  At ferrets of new england we go over nip training at length and give guidance on how to train the kit.  We feel that it is the owners responsibility to properly train there own ferrets.  Ferrets that are no longer wanted must be returned to ferrets of New England. Under no circumstances are they allowed to be resold or placed in a shelter.

Prices
Prices are from $300.00-$450.00 unless otherwise noted for a particular ferret. The price includes a  ferret sleep sack, a bag of our food mix.

Once the kits reach 7-8 weeks of age, we require a $75.00 non-refundable deposit to reserve your ferret. We will e-mail you to let you know when your deposit is due. Your deposit will hold your baby to 15 weeks of age.
Once payments are received, they are non-refundable. We will email you to let you know when your deposit is received. Please only reserve a ferret if you are sure that it is the right choice for you. We encourage you to visit Ferrets of New England to meet our  furry family to help you decide if a ferret is the right pet for you.

Visitations
We encourage you to visit Ferrets of New England to meet, hold, and learn about our Ferrets. We hope that this will assist you in deciding if a Ferret is the right pet for you. Since we are a small breeder and we operate out of our house, we ask that you make an appointment at least 48 hours in advance. We are usually available weekday afternoons and evenings and most weekends.
If you have a kit reserved, we encourage visits after 6 weeks of age. This may vary by mother, as some litters are more fragile then others. We will do our best to provide online pictures of the mother with her litter.

Payment
Ferrets of New Engalnd accepts PayPal, cash, money orders, or cashier's check. We do not accept personal checks under any circumstance. Payment in full is expected before any ferrets leave Ferrets of New England.

Refunds
Pet ownership  is serious and  we encourage you to think before you decide to purchase a ferret. We do not offer refunds. If you do purchase a kit from us and decide you no longer are able to care for your furry friend, we require that all ferrets purchased from us are returned to us.  You are not allowed to turn them over to a shelter or other placement agence. Under no circumstances are you allowed to resell them.

Health
Ferrets of New England guarantees that all our kits, to the best of our knowledge, are free from any health problems. All kits are guaranteed to be free from congenital problems until age 8 months. If a ferret dies before the age of 8 months, we will replace the animal at no charge if given a necropsy report from a licensed veterinarian stating the nature of the problem was due to heredity or present at birth.
Ferrets over the age of 8 months do not carry a long-term health guarantee. They will be checked by a veterinarian prior to leaving our premises and will be guaranteed to be free of any communicable diseases at that time. These guarantees do not include accident, negligence or any treatable or communicable illness.

Colors
Ferret's fur will darken and lighten for some time after they go home.  It is difficult to garrenty that a kit will be a certain color.  We can, however, try to get you a certain color. We hope to have a variety of standards and colors.
